Bin Laden's bodyguard warns of escalation in Yemen

Sana'a declares amnesty for Yemenis seeking to harm Yemen
YemenOnline.June 10,2009- The Yemeni foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Kirby announced that the Yemeni government issued general amnesty for elements seeking to disengage unity and to destabilize the country. The minister declared his announcement in his address, Monday, to the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) Foreign Minister's meeting in Riyadh, calling these elements to return to Yemen to enjoy their rights under the democratic multi-party system.  
 The Yemeni Foreign Minister ensured his government's awareness of the effects of their economic, financial, administrative reforms in addition to resources Scarcity on the Yemeni people and its aggravation by the international economic crisis.The Yemeni foreign Minister pointed to the terrorist element's exploitation to the situations in Yemen and their  depicting to it as if it is confined  only to the southern and eastern provinces, while its influence extends to all areas of the country.    Al-Kirby,  Yemeni foreign Minister, turned attention that 70 percent of Yemen's revenues depend on oil whose production dropped by 40 percent, followed by the 60 percent decrease in the oil market prices, impacting the Yemeni development and investment programs and preventing the improvement of people's income as well as the financing of development programs.He said that the Yemeni government took a number of measures to address these conditions, realized in the continuation of the comprehensive national reform program, the continuation of the president's call for   dialogue as well as the adherence  to the path of peaceful and legal procedures  to address all issues and rejection of violence and incitement to it.The Yemeni foreign Minister expressed his government's confidence in the GCC's countries understanding for the risks of calls for separation, violence and the incitement to hatred spirit among the one people. He pointed out that its effects might not be confined only to Yemen and they are likely to spread to the rest of the region; particularly under the schemes aiming to ignite sectarian, regional and religious crises, which are exploited by the terrorist elements to pass their agenda. Al-Qirbi, The Yemeni minister thanked the GCC countries for their fulfilling to 80 of their commitments of London conference, explaining that what Yemen needs now is a mechanism for the acceleration of the next stages of completing the studies and signing the implementation agreements. The Yemeni Foreign Minister said that such meetings provide opportunities for exchange of views on bilateral national issues of partnership, cooperation and coordination.
