Sana'a, May 19, 2008 (YemenOnline) - Minister of the Interior Rashad al-Alimi held talks on Sunday with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Antonio Guterres on the mutual cooperation ties between Yemen and the commission.

Al-Alimi briefed Guterres, who is currently visiting Yemen, on the efforts exercised by the government concerning refugees coming from African Horn.

Guterres praised the Yemeni support for the UNHCR's office in Yemen, valuing the humanity acts presented by the government for the refugees, especially the Somalis.

Al-Alimi also met with the American Ambassador to Sana'a, Stephen Seche. The meeting discussed aspects of enhancing the cooperation between the two countries, particularity in combating terrorism.
