Hodeida, May 31, 2008 (YemenOnline) - Hodeidah governor Ahmed al-Jabali talked with the representative of the US Organization for the Protection of Children Ms. Elisabeth Daniel on means to protect Yemeni children from labor.

During their meeting, they discussed the tasks that must be done to decline conditions and causes which deprive the children of their educational and healthy rights.

Al-Jabali pointed the importance of the organization's regional project to combat child labor, affirming the phenomenon's danger has become a reality threatens the proper living conditions of children.

Daniel, head of the organization's project in Yemen, said the organization is currently implementing a field survey in collaboration with Education Ministry's bureau in the province to define the problem's magnitude and the percentage of child labour and Yemeni children who have been deprived of education.

"In the light of the survey's accurate data, the project will make plans and programs which help eliminate the problem", added Daniel.
