The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) began the first phase of works on a water supply project in the Lawdar District of the Abyan Governorate in Yemen.
Representatives from the ERC along with Yemeni officials attended the ceremony marking the start of the project, reported state news agency WAM.
The first phase of the water project will include the drilling, construction and equipping of four artesian wells and four chambers and pumps. The wells will serve more than 35,000 Lawdar residents with potable water.
