Thousands of Yemeni families are benefiting from the Emirates Red Crescent's (ERC) Ramadan programmes in Al Mukala, Hadramaut.
The aid includes hundreds of tonnes of Ramadan Ration and other humanitarian aid that is being sent under directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.
Fahd Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, Deputy Secretary-General for Development and International Cooperation at the ERC, said that this assistance comes within the initiatives undertaken by the UAE in Yemen to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Ahmed Sulaiman Al Akbari, Director General of Directorate of Al Mukala, has hailed the humanitarian and development role played by the UAE leadership in Yemen in general and in Hadramaut in particular, appreciating the ongoing humanitarian initiatives of ERC during the holy month.
For their part, the beneficiary families expressed sincere appreciation to UAE leadership and people for this noble humanitarian gesture. They stressed that obtaining foodstuffs has become a difficult task in light of the crises ripping the country and the concomitant significant rise in food prices.
Since of the beginning of Ramadan, the ERC has deployed about 10,000 food baskets out of 30,000 that will be distributed among limited- income families over the coming days of the Holy Month in the districts of Hadramout Governorate.
