Abu Dhabi — Yemen’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, addressed members of the Yemeni community and diplomatic corps in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, highlighting the significance of the eighth anniversary of the December 2 Revolution alongside the 55th anniversary of Yemen’s Independence Day on November 30.

In his remarks, the ambassador praised the sacrifices of Yemenis who have struggled for freedom, dignity, and sovereignty, stressing that the December 2 Revolution embodies the will of the Yemeni people to resist oppression and reclaim national identity. 

He linked the commemoration to the historic November 30 milestone, when Yemenis achieved independence from colonial rule in 1967, underscoring the continuity of struggle for self-determination.

“These anniversaries remind us of the resilience of our people and their unwavering commitment to defend Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and republican values,” Saleh said.

The ambassador also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with regional partners, including the UAE, to support Yemen’s stability and reconstruction. 

He called on Yemenis at home and abroad to remain united in the face of ongoing challenges, noting that national solidarity is essential to overcoming the humanitarian crisis and restoring peace.

Community representatives in Abu Dhabi welcomed the address, describing it as a message of hope and resilience for Yemenis enduring conflict and displacement.
