Sana'a - U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered the U.S. military to carry out a "decisive and strong" operation against the Houthi group in Yemen. 

Trump explained that this move was in response to attacks on American ships and aircraft in the region, which he described as "terrorist acts and piracy."

Trump stated that the primary goal of the operation is to protect American commercial vessels and restore freedom of navigation in vital waterways such as the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. 

He emphasized that the Houthis had disrupted global shipping, negatively impacting international trade and violating the principle of free navigation.

He also blamed Iran for supporting and funding the Houthi group, pointing out that the group had used missiles to target American aircraft and allied forces, causing significant economic losses and endangering lives.

Trump added that U.S. forces had already begun conducting intensive airstrikes on Houthi positions to achieve the declared objectives and safeguard American interests in the region.
