UAE announces New Year’s Day public holiday for government workers
 
                       
                      New Year’s Day will be a paid holiday for government workers in the United Arab Emirates, government officials announced on Friday.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) declared Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as a holiday for federal sector workers.
A circular issued by the authority on Friday added that work will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
“On this occasion, FAHR extended its best wishes to the leadership, government and people of the UAE, as well as its residents, praying to God Almighty to bless them with health and well-being,” it said in a statement.
