UAE Red Crescent launched the Zayed's Legacy campaign to Support Yemeni People and families of fallen and wounded heroes

Emirates Red Crescent has launched a campaign to mark Eid Al Adha in various Yemeni governorates to support the families of the country's fallen and wounded heroes.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and ERC Chairman, launched the campaign under the banner "Zayed's Legacy to Support Yemeni People" in accordance with the directives from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Sheikh Khalifa's keenness to support and help the Yemeni people.
The campaign will provide the families with new clothing for Eid, gifts for children, and will distribute cash and vouchers to purchase necessities, the state news agency Wam reported.
Distribution will begin on August 20 and last until the third day of Eid Al Adha.
Dr Mohammed Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC, said the UAE's leadership spares no effort when providing humanitarian aid to the people of Yemen since the outbreak of the crisis there.
He said the UAE, along with its humanitarian organisations, provide many forms of help and support to those affected, and have become one of the most generous donor nations with regard to Yemen.
"This campaign is a continuation of the UAE's humanitarian, relief and development approach in Yemen, and reflects the pride of the UAE and its people in the brotherly people of Yemen and their sacrifices," Dr Al Falahi said.
The ERC Secretary-General stressed that the UAE leadership's attention to the current humanitarian situation in Yemen reflects the strength of relations and the lasting ties between the UAE and Yemen.
