‘Masam’ removes over 4,900 mines in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Demining Project in Yemen (Masam) removed 4,911 mines during the second week of February. The removed mines contained five anti-personnel landmines, 161 anti-tank, 4,739 unexploded ammunition and six explosives.
The total number of removed landmines till now has reached 134,259 mines planted by the Houthi militias in schools, plots of land and houses in Yemen, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The Houthis tried to conceal and camouflage them in various ways using different shapes and colors, claiming the lives of a big number of children, women and old people, while many others sustained serious injuries necessitating amputation of their limbs.
