Egypt Reaffirms Support for Yemen’s Legitimate Government During UN Meetings

Aden – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reiterated Cairo’s unwavering support for Yemen’s internationally recognized government during a high-level meeting with Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Conveying greetings from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Madbouly emphasized Egypt’s commitment to Yemen’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity. He underscored that Yemen’s security is vital to regional stability and the safety of Red Sea maritime routes.
“Egypt stands firmly with the legitimate government in Aden and supports all efforts aimed at restoring peace and ending the suffering of the Yemeni people,” Madbouly stated, calling for renewed international momentum toward a comprehensive political solution.
The Egyptian Prime Minister also voiced concern over the humanitarian crisis and stressed the importance of upholding international humanitarian law and facilitating aid access across all regions of Yemen.
In response, Chairman Al-Alimi expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s historic role and ongoing support. He called for activating the joint Yemeni-Egyptian committee to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in education, health, and infrastructure development.
The meeting highlighted Egypt’s strategic interest in Yemen’s stability and its broader role in supporting Arab unity and regional diplomacy amid ongoing conflict and fragmentation.
