Yemeni Military Adhere To Int'l Humanitarian Law ,Chief Of Staff Says
The armed forces of the internationally-recognized Yemeni government are fully committed to provisions of international laws, including the International Humanitarian Law, as well as rules of military engagements, Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Sagher bin Aziz affirmed on Saturday.
"Our forces are also carrying out their duties in line with the Yemeni constitution and laws, he said during a meeting with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Marib city, central Yemen.
"The terrorist Houthi group violates all international laws and conventions, continues recruitment of children, doesn't respect laws and ethics and exploit humanitarian aid to serve its war goals," he pointed out.
He condemned Houthis' torture of the detained and disappeared persons which led to the death of scores of them and caused disability for many others.
He affirmed readiness to cooperate with the ICRC to facilitate their humanitarian missions.
