A Yemeni human rights group and 13 other organizations accused the Iran-backed Houthi militias of committing 514 violations against Yemenis in less than 10 days.

These violations included 51 accounts of murder.

In a press release, the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms said it had “documented the abuses in provinces and cities under the control of the militia.”

“The breaches happened between October 1 and 10 and include killings, injuries, abductions and arbitrary bombings, among other violations,” the report added.

“Fifty-one people were killed, including 14 children and six women,” said the NGO.

“Houthi militants caused the tragic death of a five-member family, parents and their three children in Sanaa,” it added.

More so, the report added that Houthis forcibly uprooted 142 families in Dhale, Hodeidah and Ibb governorates.

The group also documented Houthis arbitrarily planting hundreds of landmines in residential areas and public infrastructure, threatening the lives of Yemeni citizens.

The head of the network, Mohammed Ahmed al-Oumda, urged the international humanitarian and rights groups to condemn the Houthi crimes.

Houthis have been notorious for killing, injuring, abducting, sniping and displacing civilians; indiscriminate shelling of neighborhoods; planting bombs and landmines; storming houses and intimidating people; hiding arms caches in residential neighborhoods; closing places of worship; and blowing up houses.

Separately, Rights Radar called for putting an end to the Houthi siege on Taiz, saying that the people have been suffering for nearly five years.

"The people in Taiz have suffered so much from this severe siege and the closure of the main outlets by Houthi militants," the rights group said in a report.A.Awsat
