Israel Issues Evacuation Warning for Yemen’s Hodeidah Port
Hodaiedah – The Israeli military has issued an urgent evacuation warning for Yemen’s strategic Hodeidah port, citing imminent military action in response to what it described as “hostile operations” by Houthi forces.
In a statement released Tuesday afternoon, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged all personnel, vessels, and civilians in the port area to leave immediately. “Due to the terrorist activities conducted by the Houthi regime from Hodeidah, the Israeli military will act decisively. Anyone remaining in the vicinity is endangering their life,” the statement read.
The warning comes amid a broader escalation in the region, as Israeli ground forces continue their advance into Gaza following a series of cross-border attacks. The IDF has not confirmed the timing or nature of the anticipated strike on Hodeidah, but the announcement signals a dramatic expansion of Israel’s military posture beyond its immediate borders.
Houthi officials have yet to respond publicly to the threat, though local sources report heightened security measures around the port and surrounding districts.
Hodeidah, located on Yemen’s Red Sea coast, is a vital lifeline for humanitarian aid and commercial shipping. Any disruption to its operations could have severe implications for millions of Yemenis already facing dire conditions.
