UAE announces pullout of troops from Yemen's Aden

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) military announced on Wednesday the pullout of the UAE troops from the Yemeni city of Aden after finishing their missions there, state news agency WAM reported.
The General Command of the UAE Armed Forces said in a statement that the UAE troops have achieved their goal of "liberating the region" and the responsibility for maintaining security has been transferred to Yemeni and Saudi Arabian troops.
"The forces armed and trained the Yemeni forces in a way that would enable them to discharge their military responsibilities independently," the military said.
"The Yemeni forces hence trained are highly competent, professional and capable of maintaining security and stability," it added.
However, the UAE forces would continue their fight against terrorist forces in southern Yemen and other regions, the statement noted.
