Aden — Yemeni authorities have confirmed the final death toll in the tragic maritime incident involving a migrant vessel that capsized off the country's southern coast. According to the Ministry of Interior and Red Sea rescue teams, at least 76 people lost their lives in the accident, with many of the victims believed to be migrants attempting to reach safer shores.

The vessel, which departed from the Horn of Africa, was reportedly overcrowded and suffered mechanical failure in rough waters near the coast of Lahj Governorate. Survivors recounted harrowing scenes of chaos as the boat took on water in the early hours of the morning.

Emergency responders managed to rescue 34 individuals, many of whom are now receiving medical care and psychological support.
