Yemeni Soldier Killed, Another Injured in Clashes with Houthis in Al-Dhalea
Aden – A Yemeni soldier was killed and another wounded during fierce clashes with Houthi militants in the Al-Husha District of Al-Dhalea Governorate, local sources confirmed late Sunday.
The confrontation erupted as Houthi forces launched an assault on Southern troops stationed in the area, prompting a firefight that left casualties on both sides.
According to the Dhale Axis Media Centre, affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council, the Houthis attempted to recover the bodies of their fighters killed in the skirmish by intensifying artillery bombardment following their failed ground advance.
The incident marks the latest escalation in a series of confrontations in Al-Dhalea, a strategic front where hostilities have flared intermittently despite a broader nationwide de-escalation.
Military observers note that dozens of fighters from both sides have been killed or injured in recent months amid renewed Houthi offensives.
The situation remains tense, with local commanders warning of further clashes as Houthi forces continue to mobilize along the border regions between Al-Dhalea and Ibb.
