2 Yemeni ministers resign from cabinet
The Saudi-backed Yemeni government's two ministers on Saturday submitted resignations to the Yemen's President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Yemeni Minister of Transportation Saleh Jubwani and Minister of Civil Services Nabil Faqih submitted their resignations to protest against the performance of the country's Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik, said official statements released by their offices.
On Thursday, the Yemeni prime minster issued a decision to suspend Jubwani from his work over serious violations.
In his letter of resignation, Jubwani confirmed that he "received a letter from the prime minister to suspend him from his work, despite the fact that such decision can only be sovereign under the jurisdiction of President Hadi."
Faqih submitted his resignation in protest against the performance of the prime minister and "the difficulty of making any tangible achievements and improving the state institutions."
Faqih said that "the government has been completely paralyzed," accusing Abdulmalik of "pursuing weak policies in leading the state institutions."
No official statement has been released by the country's cabinet or the presidential office regarding the ministers' resignations.
