Aden -- Security forces at the Sarfait border crossing between Yemen and Oman have intercepted a shipment containing 25 cartons of prohibited devices and equipment, in a move aimed at curbing unauthorized imports and safeguarding national security.

The seizure took place on October 12, 2025, during routine inspection procedures conducted by customs and border control units operating under the internationally recognized Yemeni government. According to officials, the cartons contained electronic devices, surveillance tools, and specialized equipment that are banned from entering Yemeni territory without prior authorization.

Authorities stated that the shipment was flagged due to inconsistencies in its documentation and was subsequently subjected to a detailed inspection. The confiscated items are now under investigation to determine their origin, intended use, and whether they are linked to any illicit activities.
