UNICEF Relocates Yemen Office from Sana’a to Aden
Aden — The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced the relocation of its main office in Yemen from Sana’a, which remains under the control of Houthi forces, to the interim capital Aden.
According to humanitarian officials, the move is intended to facilitate operations and improve coordination with the internationally recognized government, as well as to ensure safer access for staff and aid delivery.
The relocation underscores the growing challenges faced by international organizations working in Houthi-held areas, where restrictions and security risks have complicated humanitarian efforts.
UNICEF emphasized that its programs will continue across the country, with a focus on supporting vulnerable children and families affected by the ongoing conflict.
Observers note that the decision reflects broader shifts among international agencies seeking to maintain neutrality while navigating Yemen’s fragmented political and security landscape.
