Yemen war funding part of new 2018 Farm Bill.

Everyone should be aware of the implications of the recent passage of the 2018 Farm Bill by the House of Representatives especially since greater Capital Region representatives, both Democrat and Republican, voted "aye" or failed to vote.

Tucked away in the Farm Bill at the last minute by Republican leadership was a provision that blocked lawmakers from voting to end United States involvement in the war in Yemen. This subterfuge was deemed necessary as momentum for a War Powers Act vote on Yemen was building rapidly in the Senate. So, as strange as it sounds, United States participation in the war in Yemen will continue unabated because of the Farm Bill.

Except for emergencies, the legislative branch of government is solely responsible for committing U.S. forces into hostilities. To say Congress has once again failed to do its job is an understatement.
