AIJES- An urgent shipment of medicines sent to Yemen from UAE by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Affairs arrived in the port of Aden yesterday morning and was received by HE Dr. Nasser Baoum, Minister of Health and Mr. Mohammed Al Junaibi, Director of Humanitarian Aid Affairs.
This shipment is the first medical aid to Yemen in the begining of the Year 2019 .
The Minister of Health Dr. Nasser Baoum said that the shipment, which arrived in Aden port from the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works to the West Coast, said that the shipment contains antibiotics, syrup and pills, to be sent to health centers in the province of Hodeidah.
The Minister of Health appreciated the support of leadership of the United Arab Emirates, which started the # year of tolerance to help us with the shipment of medicines, and this is a continuation of humanitarian support to Yemen since 2015 until today.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Junaibi, Director of Humanitarian Affairs, said that this support for the brothers in Yemen came under the guidance of the wise leadership represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and will contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Yemenis in the liberated provinces.
Dr. Suad Misri, Director of the Medical Supply Center, said the shipment was 250.000 kg, equivalent to 25 tons, to be distributed directly to health centers in the West Coast.
