Masam project clears 1,092 mines in Yemen during first week of July

Relief Center's project for clearing mines (Masam) in Yemen demined 1,092 mines during the first week of July 2020, including 3 antipersonnel mines, 298 anti-tanks, 744 unexploded ordnance and 17 explosive devices.
Since the beginning of the project, as many as 172,823 mines have been dismantled after they had been planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The vast number of land mines poses a threat to Yemeni people and their safety as they continue to claim lives, cause serious injuries or amputation of children, women and the elderly.
