Twenty-four relief trucks of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) crossed Al-Wadiah Crossing Point, during Sept. 30 to Oct. 10, 2020, carrying 327 tons and 420 kilograms of food baskets, 5 tons of shelter materials and 30 cartons of dates weighing 152 tons and 32 kilograms.
This aid will be distributed in Marib, Lahij, Hodeida, Hadhramaut and Taiz Governorates, Yemen. This aid is part of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to all Yemeni governorates.
The KSrelief inaugurated on Thursday a PCR COVID-19 testing unit at Al-Wadiah Crossing Point. Yemeni Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Nasser Baum said that this step comes with similar procedures in a number of governorates in which PCR testing devices had previously been installed to facilitate the flow of testing travelers in all governorates and prevent congestion at Al-Wadiah Crossing Point.
This aid comes as an extension of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince to stand with friendly countries and alleviate their suffering from COVID-19 pandemic.
In Hadramout, KSrelief also distributed on Friday 266 tons and 430 kilograms of food baskets to the most needy families, benefiting 14,940 people.
In Antananarivo, the KSrelief, in cooperation with the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management in the Republic of Madagascar, has distributed the 5th batch of the food baskets, benefiting the people affected by the floods that swept the country, recently.
In Khartoum, the KSrelief continued distributing various humanitarian aid to those affected by the torrents and floods in Sudan, within the airlift by which King Salman directed.
