Saudi Arabia’s Council of Ministers on Tuesday welcomed the US decision to designate the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen as a terrorist organization.
During its weekly meeting chaired by King Salman, the Cabinet said the plans by the US administration to list the militia group as terrorist should contribute to putting an end to its terrorist acts.
It said the designation should neutralize the dangers posed by the group towards the Yemeni people, international security and the global economy, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The designation would support political efforts to end the crisis in Yemen and help reach a comprehensive political solution, the Cabinet added.
The cabinet also congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the launch of the newly announced The Line project in NEOM.
