In a post on X, CENTCOM stated that the group, which comprises the flagship USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and its supporting destroyers and cruisers, "aims to ensure regional stability and security."
The arrival was verified when the carrier crossed the Suez Canal into the Red Sea.
The move by the US, an all-time ally of "Israel" amid its expansionist ambitions in the region, comes amid rising tensions following Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's ouster and ongoing operations by the YAF in support of Gaza and in retaliation to the American-British aggression on Yemen.
Earlier today, the US-British forces of aggression launched an airstrike on the al-Tuhayta district in the southern part of the Hodeidah province, located on Yemen’s Red Sea coast in the west,.
The airstrike on al-Tuhayta did not cause any damage to the military stockpile.
Earlier this month, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced the targeting of one US destroyer and three US supply ships in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden in support of the Palestinian people and its Resistance, in response to the Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip, and in retaliation to the American-British aggression on Yemen,
Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed in a statement that the Stena Impeccable, Maersk Saratoga, and Liberty Grace ships, belonging to the US Army, as well as an American destroyer, were targeted in a top-tier military operation carried out by the YAF's missile and drone forces.
According to the statement, 16 ballistic missiles, one cruise missile, and one drone were used to carry out the multifaceted operation, achieving precise hits, in both the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
YAF drones, missiles 'freak' US Navy over attacks on destroyers
Last month, Brandon J. Weichert wrote how an attack from the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) on US Navy destroyers underscored the vulnerabilities of the Navy's surface fleet.
In response to the ongoing US and British aggression against Yemen and in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese people, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) conducted two major military operations targeting US naval assets in the region last month inflicting significant damage on American ships.
The first operation targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. Using a combination of cruise missiles and drones, Yemeni forces struck the vessel while it was reportedly preparing for operations against Yemen. The statement said the operation thwarted an impending American aerial assault, achieving its objectives without interruption.
The second operation targeted two US destroyers in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles and drones, again claiming successful strikes against the vessels.
Weichert wrote in National Interest that Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Bill LaPlante stated that what the YAF had accomplished with their missile and drone operations in the previous year was unparalleled, forcing the Americans to withdraw their visibly vulnerable aircraft carriers, fearing the destruction of these expensive and exposed ships. Instead, they turned to smaller surface warships like the mentioned destroyers.
