El-Sisi welcomes UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed in Cairo

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the visit underscores the strong historical ties between Egypt and the UAE, adding that both leaders are committed to strengthening cooperation in all fields.
El-Shennawy noted that this partnership builds on decades of joint achievements since the founding of the UAE by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose vision laid the basis for close Egyptian-Emirati relations.
The visit reflects ongoing coordination between Cairo and Abu Dhabi to advance shared interests, support regional stability, and preserve the legacy of close bilateral ties.
On 26 August, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed visited Alamein, where talks focused on expanding strategic cooperation, particularly in the economic sector.
During the visit, both sides stressed the importance of expanding joint projects in infrastructure, renewable energy, and real estate as part of Egypt’s economic development plans.
The leaders also discussed regional diplomacy, particularly the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The UAE has provided financial and logistical support for relief efforts, while Egypt has played a central role as the main route for aid convoys.
They emphasized the need for continued Arab coordination to resolve regional conflicts, presenting Egyptian-Emirati cooperation as a key element of stability in the Middle East and North Africa.
The visits come after major Emirati investment pledges in Egypt, most notably the $35 billion Ras El-Hekma development project, one of the largest foreign investments in Egypt’s history.
