UAE Commits AED 26.1 Billion to Yemen’s Stability and Reconstruction
Abu Dhabi — The United Arab Emirates has announced a landmark aid package totaling AED 26.1 billion (approximately USD 7.1 billion) to bolster stability, humanitarian relief, and long-term reconstruction in Yemen.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting the Yemeni people amid ongoing challenges stemming from years of conflict and economic hardship.
According to official statements, the funding will be channeled into critical sectors including healthcare, education, infrastructure, energy, and food security.
A significant portion will also be allocated to rebuilding war-damaged cities, restoring public services, and empowering local institutions to deliver sustainable development.
The Emirates Red Crescent and other UAE-based humanitarian agencies are expected to oversee the implementation of key projects in coordination with international partners and local authorities.
The aid package includes both direct financial support and in-kind assistance such as medical supplies, food aid, and logistical resources.
UAE officials emphasized that the initiative aims to “restore hope and dignity” to millions of Yemenis affected by the crisis, while reinforcing regional stability and promoting peace-building efforts.
The announcement comes amid renewed international appeals for increased humanitarian funding, with the United Nations estimating that over 19 million Yemenis remain in need of urgent assistance.
This latest pledge builds on the UAE’s longstanding humanitarian engagement in Yemen, which has included emergency relief operations, flood response missions, and development programs across the country’s western and southern regions.
