Yemen Condemns Israeli Airstrike on Doha, Calls for International Accountability
Aden – The Republic of Yemen has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on the Qatari capital, Doha, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability.
In an official statement issued by the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government denounced the attack as a “flagrant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter,” emphasizing that such aggression undermines ongoing efforts to achieve peace in the region and resolve the Palestinian issue through diplomatic means.
Yemen reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and expressed support for the Gulf nation’s sovereign right to protect its citizens and territory. The statement also called on the international community—particularly the UN Security Council—to take urgent action to hold Israel accountable and prevent further violations.
The Israeli strike reportedly targeted a residential building housing senior Hamas officials who were engaged in ceasefire negotiations. The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from Arab and international leaders, with many warning that it could derail fragile mediation efforts and inflame tensions across the Middle East.
Yemen’s condemnation adds to a growing chorus of voices demanding restraint and respect for international norms, as diplomatic fallout from the strike continues to unfold.
