SANAA — Houthi militants launched a new crackdown on humanitarian operations in Yemen by storming the offices of five international aid organizations in the capital, Sanaa, on Tuesday evening, in what rights groups are calling a dangerous escalation.

According to local reports and human rights sources, the targeted organizations include: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Islamic Relief Worldwide, Action Against Hunger, Human Appeal, and the French NGO ACTED. Armed Houthi forces reportedly detained several staff members, confiscated sensitive documents and equipment, and remain stationed inside some of the offices as of Wednesday morning.

The raids mark a troubling pattern of increasing restrictions on humanitarian agencies operating in Houthi-controlled areas, raising fears of further disruption to life-saving aid for millions of vulnerable Yemenis.

International organizations have expressed deep concern over the attacks, urging the Houthis to respect humanitarian law and ensure the safety of aid workers. The United Nations and donor countries are closely monitoring the situation and considering diplomatic responses.
