Yemen Govt. Affirms Support for Saudi Efforts to Ensure Success of Jeddah Talks
Yemen’s legitimate government stressed that it supports Saudi efforts to ensure the success of the ongoing dialogue with representatives of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Jeddah.
The Saba news agency said the Gov't also praised the major role played by Saudi Arabia, the leader of the coalition to restore stability in Yemen, especially in regards to the dialogue.
He stressed that the legitimate government is keen on achieving peace and ending the armed rebellion in some southern provinces in order to return the focus on ending the Iran-backed Houthi militias’ expansionist agenda in Yemen.
These include preserving the security, stability, unity and safety of Yemeni territories, restoring the authority of the state and all of its institutions to Aden, including the parliament, and integrating all non-state and STC military groups with the forces of the defense and interior ministries.
He stressed the need to show goodwill and avoid escalation or mobilization in order to ensure the success of the Jeddah talks.
