Saudi- KSrelief Project Masam Dismantles 7,162 Mines in Yemen in April 2020

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's project for clearing mines (Masam) in Yemen demined 7,162 mines during the month of April 2020, including 106 antipersonnel mines, 1,402 anti-tanks, 5,617 unexploded ordnance, and 37 explosive devices.
Since the beginning of the project, 163,183 landmines have been dismantled after they had been planted by Houthi militias, in Yemen, claiming lives, serious injuries or amputation of children, women and the elderly.
The project comes as a continuation of efforts being exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to clear Yemeni lands of landmines and unexploded ordnance, and to train Yemeni national cadres in demining action.
