Arab Parliament Speaker slams criminal Houthi practices

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Mishaal Bin Fahim Al-Salami, has condemned the continued violations of the Iran-supported Houthi terrorist militia and its criminal acts against members of the House of Representatives of Yemen who rejected the coup and supported legitimacy.
In a statement, Dr. Al-Salami affirmed his “categorical rejection of the Houthi militia’s continued criminal practices, terrorist acts and grave violations against the deputies of the Yemeni people."
He stressed that the acts of the Houthi coup militia are in flagrant violations of international law, international humanitarian law, international covenants and norms, United Nations resolutions and international treaties, and that they are a clear violation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union law.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament sent a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, the president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, calling for immediate and urgent action to compel the Houthi militia to stop these violations and illegal measures against elected members representing the Yemeni people and having parliamentary immunity, stressing the necessity to take all measures necessary to provide them with legal protection.
