The Houthis are violating de-escalation agreements and memorandum of understanding everywhere, Yemeni parliament speaker Sultan Al-Barakani said.
The Iran-backed group was intensifying conflicts in several provinces in Yemen despite a ceasefire, violating the Stockholm Agreement and other de-escalation mechanisms in Hodeidah, Al-Barakani said, in a report from news agency Saba.
The Houthis were using the decaying Safer oil tanker issue to extort the international community, Al-Barakani said, who was made the statements during a meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Yemen.
The Yemeni speaker called out the international community of taking the “Houthi maximalist attitude” lightly.
“The international community has not done the least bit of thing to stop the Houthi genocidal war which the militia has been waging for months to attempt to press forward on Marib City,” he said.
Al-Barakani discussed with Ambassador Kang Yong the implementation of the military aspect of the Riyadh Agreement, and urged support for Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enforce the deal.
