US Senator says Oman will play crucial role in establishing peace in Yemen

US Senator Chris Murphy, who was in Oman recently affirmed that the Sultanate will play a crucial role in establishing peace in Yemen. Murphy as well as US Special Envoy Tim Lenderking were in Oman wherein they met with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Hamad Al Busaidi.
The senator from Connecticut posted a series of tweets during his visit in Oman. Murphy tweeted that he held a meeting in Muscat with the US Special Envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking and Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The senator emphasized that the meeting was fruitful and that it was time to establish peace in Yemen.
Oman’s Foreign Minister also in his tweet noted about the meetings that he had with the US Senator and the Special Envoy. It is pertinent to note that this is the second visit of Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim, to Oman within the last three month.

Oman’s FM Badr Al Busaidi tweeted: “Glad to see Senator Chris Murphy and US Special Envoy Tim Lenderking today. We are resolved to support full heartedly all efforts for peace in Yemen.
It is worth noting that Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, was also present for the meeting in Oman.
In another tweet, Senator Chris mentioned about the dinner he had with political and business leaders in Muscat. “Dinner tonight in Muscat, Oman with political and business leaders. Doing meetings here tomorrow with Yemen Special Envoy Tim Lenderking to talk about the role Oman can take in achieving a ceasefire in Yemen.”
