Yemen’s Houthi rebels have reported that United States carried out around 10 airstrikes in and around the capital, Sanaa, following a missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. The Houthi-run Saba news agency reported that the strikes targeted multiple locations, including Arbaeen Street and the airport road, describing them as “American aggression”.

The Houthis’ health ministry stated that 14 people were wounded in the Sawan neighborhood as a result of the strikes. The airstrikes come after the Houthis fired a missile from Yemen that landed near the main terminal of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, injuring six people and causing a large crater near the airport’s perimeter.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the attack, stating that Israel had previously acted against the Iran-backed rebels and would continue to do so in the future. He warned that Israel’s response would not be immediate but would involve multiple retaliatory actions1. Netanyahu also indicated that Israel would respond to Iran at a time and place of its choosing.

Following the missile strike, several international airlines suspended flights to Israel, and the Houthis warned airlines to cancel flights to Israeli airports, promising further attacks. The situation remains tense as both sides prepare for potential escalations.
