A Yemeni human rights report accused Houthis of killing 15,000 civilians and wounding about 23,000 others since the group launched its coup against the freely-elected government.

The local report was released on the occasion of the international Human Rights Day, which falls on Tuesday December 10.

The report stated that the number of civilian killings in Yemen since September 21, 2014, until the end of last October, amounted to 15,420 civilians, while the number of wounded reached 22,916.

It said that there are 4, 272 kidnapped civilians, 6, 352 children recruited so far.

Also, it added that the mines laid by the Houthi militias in a number of Yemen governorates have killed about 1,300 civilians. Violations committed by Houthis are flagrant and go against human rights laws and international conventions.

The report called on the international community to intervene effectively and put an end to Houthi violations. It urged world nations to take measures to deter perpetrators of these heinous crimes.

It also called on Houthi militia to immediately stop all forms of violations against civilians and to release all arbitrary and forcibly apprehended detainees, including children, women, the elderly, politicians, and media and community activists.
