Yemen Airways Introduces New Penalties in Ticket Cancellation Policy
Aden — Yemen Airways has announced new updates to its ticket cancellation (VOID) policy, introducing financial penalties on travel agents in an effort to regulate sales operations and curb random cancellations.
According to Circular No. (14) of 2025, issued to accredited travel agents, the new measures will officially take effect on January 1, 2026. The company’s Agents Affairs Department explained that the penalties are designed to ensure greater discipline in ticketing practices and to protect the airline from excessive disruptions.
Under the revised policy:
- A fine of $10 per cancelled ticket will be imposed if monthly cancellations (VOID) exceed 15% of the agent’s total sales.
- A fine of $50 per ticket will be applied to any cancellation made less than 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure.
Yemen Airways emphasized that the move aims to strengthen accountability among agents, reduce operational losses, and maintain smoother travel services for passengers.
