5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes Yemen
Tuesday, an earthquake struck off the eastern coast of Yemen.
The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center announced, on its website, that an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck 153 km southeast of the coast of Mukalla, the capital of Hadhramaut Governorate, largest governorate in Yemen .
He added that the monitoring stations recorded the epicenter of the earthquake at a depth of 60 km at 13.26 east longitude and 49.64 north latitude.
In addition, a source in the local authority in the Hadhramaut governorate said that residents of the areas near the coast of the city of Mukalla felt a slight earthquake.
