Houthi Military Chief Leading Efforts to Rebuild Militia Capabilities in Yemen After Heavy Strikes
Sana'a — Well-informed Yemeni sources have disclosed extensive moves led by the newly appointed Chief of Staff of the Houthi forces, Yusuf al-Madani, aimed at rehabilitating the militia’s military system and restoring its specialized combat capabilities.
The efforts come in the wake of sustained U.S., British, and Israeli strikes over the past two years that have severely weakened themilitiaf.
According to the sources, al-Madani has prepared a comprehensive plan to rebuild the militia’s military infrastructure.
The plan reportedly includes the establishment of secret military facilities and underground structures across various areas of the capital Sana’a, as well as in the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, and Dhamar.
In parallel, renovation and expansion works are underway in tunnels and weapons depots located in the mountains of Saada and Amran.
The sources added that the Houthis are seeking to redistribute their strategic weapons by deploying fortified bases in central and western Yemen, rather than concentrating them solely in the far north.
This strategy is intended to provide greater flexibility in movement, maneuvering, and rapid redeployment when needed, while reducing the risk of direct targeting.
