UAE Commends Saudi-French Leadership on Palestinian Peace Conference
The United Arab Emirates has commended the efforts of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also the Kingdom's Prime Minister, and French President Emmanuel Macron for leading the international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the UAE emphasized the importance of international support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within internationally recognized borders and reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
The UAE also welcomed the recent international recognition of the State of Palestine, noting that it reflects a shared vision that the only way to end the decades-long conflict is through progress toward two independent states, SPA reported.
It reiterated its commitment to being an active partner in supporting the Palestinian people’s aspirations and will continue to work with regional and international partners to achieve a just and sustainable settlement.
The UAE participated in sponsoring the draft resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly prior to the conference and voted in favor of the New York Declaration on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue.
