"There are individuals from a number of countries - since we regard them as international civil service, we are not providing the specific nationalities - but, as you know, in recent weeks we had had about 20 monitors already in the country, and we are getting more them in as the visa condition allow," Haq told reporters.

In December, during the first round of UN-led consultations in Sweden, the warring parties to the Yemeni conflict agreed to a ceasefire in the port city of Al Hudaydah, as well as an exchange of prisoners and establishment of humanitarian corridors in the area.

Later in the month, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling for a 30-day deployment of a United Nations team to Yemen to help monitor the ceasefire.

Yemen has been ravaged by almost four years of war between the internationally backed government, supported by the Saudi-led coalition, and the Houthi rebels.
