IOM: Over 24,000 People Displaced in Yemen in 2025, Half in Marib
Aden — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that more than 24,000 people have been internally displaced in Yemen since the beginning of this year, with nearly half of the cases recorded in Marib governorate, northeast of the country.
In its displacement tracking report released on Monday, the IOM said it documented 4,098 families comprising 24,588 individuals who were forced to move at least once between January 1 and December 13, 2025.
According to the report, 51% of the new displacement cases were concentrated in Marib, accounting for 2,080 families. Other governorates also witnessed significant displacement, including Taiz with 929 families, Al Hudaydah (611), Hadramawt (118), Al-Dhalea (111), Shabwa (105), Abyan (50), Lahj (49), Al-Jawf (29), Socotra (11), and Al-Mahra (5).
The findings highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where conflict and insecurity continue to drive thousands of families from their homes each year, placing additional strain on already fragile communities and aid systems.
