Yemeni government appoints new central bank head

Yemen’s president has named a new governor for one of the two central banks operating in the country, currently in a state of civil war.
Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi named Ahmed Obaid Al-Fadhli the new governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, based in the southern port city of Aden. He will replace Mohammed Zammam, whom the president appointed governor in February 2018. He will be the fourth person to hold the role since war broke out.
