Landmine explosions killed two children and a man in Yemen on Tuesday, Yemen's state TV reported.
The two children were killed in a landmine blast while herding sheep in the Rahabah district in the southern central province of Marib, local authorities was cited by Yemen TV as saying, adding a third child was wounded in the blast.
In a separate incident, a man was killed in a landmine explosion while travelling in the Tuhayat district in the southern part of the western Red Sea port city of Hodeidah. Another man was wounded in the explosion.
The Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen has estimated that more than 1 million landmines have been laid since the outbreak of the Yemeni civil war in late 2014, when the Houthi forces took control of several northern provinces and forced the Yemeni government out of the capital Sanaa.
Landmines, unexploded bombs, and other explosive remnants in Yemen caused 338 civilian casualties in 2021, including 129 fatalities, according to the UN-affiliated Civilian Impact Monitoring Project.
