Child killed by Houthi drone attack in western Yemen

A 10-year-old child was killed and another was injured on Wednesday when Houthi rebels launched a drone attack on a village in Yemen's western Hodeidah province, the official Saba news agency reported.
The children were playing in the backyard when the drone hit their house in the village of Dobas, in the northwestern part of the Hays district, the report said, adding that another young man was shot and injured by a Houthi sniper in the same area.
Hodeidah has witnessed a shaky cease-fire between the government forces and the Houthi militia since they reached a UN-sponsored truce in Stockholm in December 2018.
The port city is controlled by the Houthis, while the government forces have advanced to the southern districts.
Yemen has been mired in a civil war since 2014 when the Iran-backed Houthi militia stormed several northern cities and drove the Saudi-backed Yemeni government out of the capital Sanaa.
