Geneva — The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has announced a funding appeal of more than 54 million US dollars to sustain humanitarian operations in Yemen throughout 2026.

In its newly released Global Plan, the IFRC said it requires 43.4 million Swiss francs (approximately 54.7 million US dollars) to address the country’s extensive and urgent needs. The plan aims to reach nearly 5 million people among the most vulnerable groups, particularly those affected by ongoing conflict and natural disasters.

According to the Federation, the interventions will focus on life-saving assistance across key sectors, including:

- Health services

- Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)

- Food security

- Climate adaptation measures

- Disaster preparedness and resilience-building

The IFRC emphasized that Yemen remains one of the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises, with millions requiring sustained support to cope with the compounded effects of war, displacement, and environmental shocks.
