Houthi Media Claims Saudi Artillery Shelling Targeted Border District in Northern Yemen

Saada – Houthi-affiliated media outlets have alleged that Saudi artillery forces launched a cross-border attack on Tuesday targeting the Al-Sheikh area in Monabbih District, located in Yemen’s northern Saada governorate.
According to the report, the shelling resulted in material damage and heightened tensions along the border, though no confirmed casualties were cited. The claim has not been independently verified, and Saudi authorities have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
Monabbih District, which lies adjacent to the Saudi border, has witnessed repeated episodes of cross-border fire and military activity in recent months. Houthi sources have frequently accused Saudi forces of targeting civilian areas, including locations known to host African migrants and displaced families.
The alleged attack comes amid ongoing regional efforts to de-escalate hostilities and revive diplomatic channels between the warring parties. Human rights organizations have previously called for independent investigations into border incidents involving civilian harm.
As of now, the reported shelling remains an unconfirmed claim made by Houthi-controlled media, with no corroboration from neutral observers or international agencies.
