NUTRITION
During the reporting period, RDP distributed nutritional supplements to a number of 161,142 children under 2 and 155,600 PLW to prevent the chronic and acute malnutrition in 20 out of 22 targeted districts (Khayran Al Muharraq, Mustaba, Washhah, Kushar, Hajjah City, Al Jamimah, Dawran Aness, Jabal Ash Sharq, Wusab Al Ali, Wusab As Safil, Al-Udayn, Fara Al-Udayn, Hazm Al-Udayn, Mudhaykhirah, Al-Qafr, Dhi As Sufal, Sama, As Silw, Sharab Ar Rawnah and Sharab As Salam) of Hajjah, Dhamar, Ibb, and Taizz governorates.
Besides, RDP has conducted awareness-raising sessions in all targeted districts to promote appropriate feeding for infants and young children which help increase their chances of survival as well as optimal growth, reaching almost 164,313 of population.
RDP, in collaboration with WFP, continues to treat moderately acutely malnourished children and PLW by supporting 17 health facilities with TSFP services. A total of 1,316 children under five and a number of 1,536 PLW received therapeutic supplements (Plumpy Sup & WSB+) to help reduce child mortality in Sama & As Silw districts of Taizz governorate. In addition, RDP raised awareness among community members on health and nutrition key messages, reaching more than 924 pregnant and lactating women.
FOOD SECURITY & LIVELIHOOD
RDP, in collaboration with WFP, expanded its operations in Al-Bayda governorate to reduce the severely food insecurity crisis by supporting a total number of 85,477 individuals of 12,211 most vulnerable households with monthly food rations within the general food distribution program (GFD) and through 87 food distribution points.
During the reporting period, RDP distributed food baskets with a total amount of 697.507 MTs of wheat flour and lentils to benefit a number 12,207 HHs in Al Malagim, Wald Rabi’, As Sawadiya, At Taffah, and Ash Sharyah districts of Al-Bayda governorate. The general food assistance helps beneficiaries receive monthly food rations of 50 Kgs wheat flour, 4 liters of vegetable oil, and 3.5 Kgs of lentils.
