U.S. Central Command Launches Strikes on Houthi Positions in Yemen

Washington, D.C. – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it carried out targeted military strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen earlier today, in what is being described as a direct response to continued threats to regional and international security.
According to official statements, the strikes aimed to neutralize military capabilities used by the Houthi group to launch attacks on commercial shipping routes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, areas that have seen increased instability in recent months.
While CENTCOM has not disclosed the exact locations or the full extent of the operation, initial reports suggest the strikes targeted weapons depots, radar systems, and missile launch sites believed to be used in recent offensives.
A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense stated:“These strikes are part of ongoing efforts to protect freedom of navigation, secure international trade routes, and respond to the Houthis’ repeated acts of aggression.”
The Houthi movement, which controls large parts of northern Yemen including the capital Sana’a, has intensified its maritime operations amid rising tensions in the Red Sea, prompting increased international concern.
There has been no immediate response from Houthi leadership regarding today’s strikes. However, past operations have typically drawn retaliatory threats from the group, which accuses the United States of direct military involvement in the conflict.
Today’s action comes amid growing diplomatic and military efforts to contain the escalation in Yemen and the surrounding region, as global powers work to prevent the crisis from further destabilizing maritime trade and regional alliances.
